The colour has a special propriety in Mari Ionita’s paintings. The drawing, as the first form of expression is pulverized by the bright density of the pigments. Strange chromatic neighborhoods drive the receiver’s perceptions in the pure zone of painting, where the topic-story breaks into words that the artist – Delphi modern priestess - utters in a ciphered way, apparently without any logic. The bit of meaning may be found in her belief that the world is an unfolding of energetic fragments and the artist is the keeper of the uncreated energies as the Christian God. The artistic gesture, the simple gesture with which he touches the easel is the same with the one in the Genesis.
